Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Underground Fiber Supervisor to lead the installation, maintenance, and management of underground fiber optic cable projects. This role is vital in ensuring the successful execution of fiber infrastructure projects, adhering to safety standards, project schedules, and quality benchmarks. The ideal candidate will possess strong construction management skills, hands-on experience with underground fiber deployment, and the ability to supervise teams effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Supervise and coordinate underground fiber optic cable installation activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schematics, and safety protocols. Manage daily field operations, including scheduling crews, allocating resources, and monitoring progress against project timelines using construction management software. Oversee quality control measures by inspecting work sites, reviewing blueprints and schematics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as OSHA regulations. Collaborate with project managers and contractors to review contracts, change orders, and project budgets while maintaining accurate documentation. Conduct site inspections with tools such as ohmmeters for testing continuity and signal integrity of fiber lines; ensure proper installation techniques are followed. Lead safety meetings, enforce OSHA standards, and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members working on underground pipeline projects. Prepare detailed reports on project status, issues encountered, and upcoming milestones; utilize construction scheduling software for effective project tracking. Qualifications Proven experience supervising underground fiber optic or similar construction projects with a strong understanding of pipeline installation processes.. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality control. Strong technical skills including use of ohmmeters for testing fiber lines; experience with construction estimating and contract management is a plus. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to construction sites; ability to enforce safety protocols rigorously.
