JOB TITLE

CDL Class Truck Driver, Class A preferred, Class B required (Union Position)

Salary:

Starting Rate-$30.46hr. Rate after successful completion of 1 year: $33.84/hr. Clothing and footwear allowance available after probationary period.

SUMMARY:

The route Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders, welding equipment and industrial supplies to local business customers using a company provided straight truck and/or trailer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Loads and unloads cylinders and hardgoods for customer orders
• Performs all deliveries while following all vehicle state laws and driving in a safe manner
• Cleans and maintains company vehicles on a daily basis and when necessary
• Fills all vehicles with gas or diesel
• Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of all full and empty cylinders
• Plan trip logistics and obtained necessary documents to transport goods
• Ensure material is secured properly and compliant with safety requirements
• Follow safety procedures for transporting hazardous goods
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle
• Manage bills of lading
• Maintain log books
• Report any incidents to dispatcher
• Report serious mechanical problems to the manager
• Keep truck and equipment tidy and in good working condition
• Relays all customer concerns to management
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior commercial driving experience, minimum 2 years of standard driving experience
• CDL Class A preferred . Must not have any manual transmission restrictions
• Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements
• Clean Driver's Abstract (Abstract will be requested if selected for an interview)
