Job Description
We are looking for passionate leaders to equip students with a love of learning and the skills to pursue their unique, God-given calling. Grace Covenant Academy is a fully accredited K-12 school. Job Description The Upper School Assistant Principal oversees the faculty of the Upper School (US), the formation of US curriculum, assists in the direction and discipline of the US student body, the spiritual care of the US student body, and the oversight of student events. The key skills needed for this position are:

- Problem solving: analyze information, identify causes and possible solutions.
Implementation :
facilitate coordination and collaboration of tasks, monitor progress, provide adjustment when required.- Delegation of authority : assign tasks so that they can be accomplished in a timely and appropriate manner.
This position is responsible to:
- communicate a clear vision of biblical parenting;
- model and encouraging the skills of parenting;
- assist in family events that encourage biblical fellowship.
This position is responsible to:
- cultivate a love of learning in the US students;
- maintain structures that ensure students are prepared for their next step, and assisting them to identify their path to college and calling;
- ensure the cultivation of biblical thinking and worldview.
This position is responsible to:
- connect staff members to God's mission and to one another;
- provide the tools, training, and oversight for the staff to be confident and effective in their jobs;
- communicate clearly and coaching effectively. Cultivate a place where students can find their people
- assist in events where students can find a place to belong in the larger GCA community. The essential elements of this position's calling include: Embracing GCA's mission and policies
- Cooperating with lead administration in implementing and modeling all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school;
- Modeling discipleship by maintaining an active membership in a Christ-centered local church, growing in his/her Christian relationship with God, and actively practicing and exhibiting Christian principles of the Christian faith;
- Embracing the Bible as the standard for life and truth;
- Displaying a gracious humility in relationships with parents, staff, and students;
- Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with GCA dress code, and always one step above the requirements for the students. This includes GCA events, rehearsals, athletic events, & activities when attending as GCA staff.
- Committing to a biblical model of gender and marriage as defined in the Gender and Marriage Statement;
- Embrace the principles of Matt 18 for resolving conflict as outlined in the Matt 18 school policy. Adopt a biblically "non-adversarial" posture towards all stakeholders. Overseeing the learning program
- Creating a school culture that loves learning. o Planning and scheduling programs, courses and activities. o Coordinating with other school programs. o Developing policies and procedures.
- Providing for student guidance programs and auxiliary services.
- Examining outcomes related to standards, goals, and priorities. o Drawing inferences for program revision. o Interpreting measurements and evaluation.
- Planning and implementing, with the staff, a framework for curriculum. o Aligning curriculum and outcomes. o Soliciting input from parents. o Adjusting curriculum, as needed Managing the faculty
- The classroom teacher occupies the most important staff role in the school.
- Recruiting, interviewing and recommending staff for employment.
- Providing work assignments to staff and direct their activities.
- Working with faculty and staff to identify staff development needs; o Planning, organizing and facilitating programs to improve effectiveness consistent with organizational goals and needs.
