Upper School Spanish Teacher

Position Overview Warner Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Spanish Teacher to join our faculty in a full-time capacity. This educator will serve students in both middle and high school, helping them develop language proficiency, cultural understanding, and confidence in communication through a Christ-centered approach to learning. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about building a strong Spanish program that prepares students for long-term success in language acquisition while supporting their academic and spiritual growth. Teaching Assignment Teach High School Spanish , consisting of either: 2 sections of Spanish I and 1 section of Spanish II , or 1 section of Spanish I and 2 sections of Spanish II The above is the position for part time. It MIGHT be the case that we can do full time. In addition, if full time position: Teach 7th and 8th Grade Spanish 1A , part of a two-year middle school sequence (Spanish 1A & Spanish 1B) Students completing both years successfully will earn high school credit for Spanish I This full-time role provides an opportunity to help students begin language study in middle school and continue progressing through high school coursework.

Key Responsibilities Instructional Duties:

Teach Spanish courses with an emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency Utilize engaging and interactive instructional methods that support language acquisition Integrate cultural studies to broaden students' understanding of the Spanish-speaking world Design and implement standards-aligned lesson plans appropriate for middle and high school learners Assess student growth and provide timely, constructive feedback

Student Development:

Foster a classroom culture marked by attentiveness, courage, and perseverance in learning Encourage students to take intellectual risks and build confidence in communication Support students' academic growth alongside their spiritual formation Model Christ-like character and biblical truth in all interactions

Professional Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration Collaborate with middle and high school faculty for curricular alignment and student success Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events Uphold and advance the mission of Warner Christian Academy Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; degree in Spanish, Education, or related field preferred Valid teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain) Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) Experience teaching middle and/or high school students preferred Strong classroom management and organizational skills A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to Christian education Preferred Attributes Passion for language learning and cultural engagement Ability to connect with both middle and high school students Flexibility in teaching multiple levels of Spanish Commitment to cultivating intellectual virtues through language learning and thoughtful instruction About Warner Christian Academy WCA exists to partner with families in shaping students into the image of Christ by helping them discover Truth in academics, athletics, and the arts.
