USCG Licensed Captain Hospitality Cruises (Part-Time / Per Diem)

A luxury lakefront hospitality property in Western Maine is seeking a personable and experienced USCG Licensed Captain to operate intimate guest cruises aboard a new pontoon boat during the 2026 season. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality, guest interaction, and creating memorable experiences on the water. Cruises are designed for overnight guests of the inn and include private sunset cruises, breakfast cruises, proposal experiences, celebration outings, and small-group lake excursions. This is not a high-volume charter operation — the atmosphere is relaxed, polished, and guest-experience focused. Pay:

$30-35/hour plus gratuities Western Maine / lakefront setting Responsibilities Safely operate a pontoon vessel for private and shared guest cruises Provide a warm, professional, and hospitality-focused guest experience Assist with light onboard hosting responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and overall presentation of the vessel before and after cruises Ensure the vessel is properly fueled, stocked, and prepared for guest departures Ensure passenger safety and comfort throughout each outing Coordinate with inn staff regarding cruise timing and guest experience details Requirements Current USCG Captain's License (required) Minimum 3 years boating experience Strong comfort level operating pontoon and recreational vessels Friendly, calm, and professional demeanor Hospitality, tourism, or guest-service experience strongly preferred Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays during peak season Reliable transportation and strong communication skills Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys people, appreciates hospitality and Maine lake life, and can help create a relaxed and memorable onboard experience for guests celebrating special occasions, anniversaries, proposals, and vacations.
