This role partners closely with maintenance planners, utility technicians, and operations leadership to maximize equipment reliability, ensure regulatory compliance, and support safe, efficient plant operations. The position also provides indirect leadership to Utility Technicians across all three shifts. Key Responsibilities Plan and oversee maintenance activities for utility systems using OEM recommendations and asset history. Coordinate repairs, downtime, and contractor services to maximize asset availability. Support and troubleshoot HVAC, boilers, ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment, and wastewater systems. Review technician rounds and provide technical guidance for troubleshooting and operations. Maintain regulatory records, inspection schedules, and audit documentation. Lead utility-related capital improvement projects and process optimization initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities and continuous improvement efforts.Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 4+ years of experience with: Ammonia refrigeration Industrial boilers (<750HP) Water treatment systems Compressed air systems Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Ability to provide leadership support across multiple shifts. Preferred Qualifications PSM, ammonia, and/or boiler certifications. Experience with CMMS systems. Knowledge of food-grade utility systems (air/steam). Capital project management experience. Familiarity with AutoCAD and FDA regulations.Similar remote jobs
