Job Description
City of Seabrook | Utility Maintenance Worker Help keep essential systems running. The City of Seabrook is looking for a dependable Utility Maintenance Worker to join our Utilities team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and repair of the City's water distribution and sanitary sewer systems. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, solving problems, and being part of a team that keeps critical infrastructure functioning, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Perform maintenance and repairs on water distribution and sanitary sewer systems Assist with locating and repairing water and sewer line issues Clean sanitary sewer mains using specialized equipment including jet trucks Operate equipment and tools used in utility maintenance and repair work Assist with lift station and wastewater system operations and identify issues when they arise Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation Follow safety procedures and help maintain safe work environments Respond to emergency repairs and unplanned service needs as required This role plays an important part in supporting reliable utility services throughout the community. What You Bring High school diploma or GED At least 1 year of related work experience preferred Valid Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain) Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and maintenance vehicles Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions Ability to work well with others and follow established safety procedures TCEQ Class C Water and/or Wastewater certifications are preferred Work Environment This is a field-based position involving physical work in a variety of conditions. Employees may work outdoors in heat, humidity, confined spaces, and around equipment, traffic, and active utility systems. The role requires standing, lifting, climbing, bending, and operating equipment throughout the workday. Personal protective equipment is provided and required.
