A Military Specialist operates and maintains vehicles and mechanical equipment pertinent to mission success, whether on the sea, land or in the air. May monitor communication, detection, or weapons systems during operations. Interprets and evaluates tactical situations, making recommendations to supervisors. May operate weapons targeting, firing, and launch systems whether during combat or peacetime. In addition to their combat training, they have also specialized training in swimming, diving, parachuting, survival, emergency medicine, and foreign languages. Duties include conducting advanced reconnaissance operations and collecting intelligence information; recruiting, training, and equipping friendly forces; conducting raids and invasions on enemy territories; laying and detonating explosives for demolition targets; locating, identifying, defusing, and disposing of ordnance; and operating and maintaining sophisticated communications equipment.

Job Requirements Wallops Island, VA Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified $59,023 - $100,339 Job Description Job Description BAE Systems is seeking experienced Information Systems Technicians (ITs) with hands-on Navy experience in GCCS-M, CANES, or both, to join our dynamic team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and operates as a tenant of NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. The center provides high-fidelity, platform-specific combat system suites with integrated sensors and supports combat system lifecycle engineering, platform certification, operational evaluation, interoperability testing, and fleet training. The selected candidate will perform comprehensive system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on GCCS-M, CANES, and associated Navy C4I systems

•. This includes supporting system configuration, software loads, cybersecurity compliance, and network operations across representative AEGIS and SSDS combat system environments. You will schedule and document maintenance actions in accordance with Navy standards, including use of Navy maintenance tracking tools and configuration management processes. Responsibilities also include maintaining system readiness, managing user accounts, applying patches, and supporting system upgrades in alignment with fleet requirements. Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School/GED and more than three years of demonstrated experience administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining Navy C4I systems, specifically GCCS-M or CANES. Navy IT rating or equivalent operational experience with afloat/shore network environments. Experience interpreting technical manuals, system documentation, and Navy cybersecurity requirements. Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux/UNIX, virtualization technologies, and network fundamentals. Ability to perform in a variety of 40-hour work-week configurations, including: Monday-Friday (5×8): 1st Shift Monday-Friday (5×8): 2nd Shift Variable 4×10 shifts (may include weekends), 1st or 2nd Shift Sliding (5×8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday), 1st or 2nd Shift

PLEASE NOTE

- These configurations may rotate. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen to obtain a clearance. A contingent offer will be issued, and the start date will be delayed until an interim clearance is granted. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Highly desired, but not required: Active DoD Secret clearance CompTIA Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 baseline certification Experience with ADNS, CENTRIXS, HBSS, ACAS, or other Navy C4I systems Familiarity with Red Hat, UNIX, or advanced network device configuration Experience supporting fleet operations, deployments, or shipboard systems

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:

$59023 - $100339 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
