Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Valve Technician specialized in oilfield operations to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of valves and related equipment used in oilfield environments. Your expertise will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of valve systems critical to our clients' operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex mechanical and electrical systems, utilizing your technical knowledge to deliver exceptional field service and maintenance support. Responsibilities Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of valves, actuators, sensors, and associated control systems in oilfield settings. Conduct calibration and testing of valves using precision measuring instruments to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and control system diagrams including AutoCAD files. Utilize industrial electrician skills to work with low voltage and high voltage electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), sensors, vision inspection systems, and calibration equipment. Diagnose issues using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other electrical testing devices; implement corrective actions promptly. Support manufacturing processes by integrating valve systems with CNC machinery and other automated equipment. Provide field service support by traveling to customer sites to troubleshoot complex issues and perform repairs under tight deadlines. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including maintenance logs, incident reports, and calibration records. Collaborate with customers to deliver outstanding service while ensuring safety standards are strictly followed in high-voltage and hazardous environments. Qualifications Proven experience working with hydraulics, mechanical systems, and industrial maintenance in oilfield or related industrial environments. Strong electrical background with experience in industrial electrician tasks, including working with low voltage, high voltage, sensors, PLCs, DCS, Calypso software (if applicable), and vision inspection systems. Knowledge of schematics interpretation using AutoCAD or similar CAD software; ability to read technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, and other calibration tools. Experience working with CNC machinery or manufacturing automation is highly desirable. Ability to troubleshoot complex valve control issues involving sensors, actuators, programmable controllers, and distributed control systems. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to resolving technical problems in the field. Military background or experience is a plus due to familiarity with rigorous safety standards and technical training requirements. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in industrial maintenance practices across diverse environments.
