Job Description
Ravenna High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a coach for the Varsity Volleyball team. This seasonal position is ideal for someone with a strong background in volleyball, a commitment to athlete development, and a desire to foster teamwork and sportsmanship among student-athletes. Responsibilities Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy. Conduct daily practices and provide instruction on volleyball fundamentals, techniques, and game rules. Prepare the team for competition through effective training and conditioning programs. Organize and oversee team meetings, including pre-game and post-game discussions. Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to align team goals and player development strategies. Monitor player performance and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement. Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games. Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players, coaches, and opponents. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations. Assist in the coordination of team travel and logistics for games and tournaments. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or junior high level, is preferred. Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season. Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies. Availability to work evenings and weekends for practices and games during the season.
