Job Description

Full-Time Associate Veterinarian (Potential for Clinical Leadership) Albion Veterinary Clinic | Northeast Indiana | Near Fort Wayne Albion Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our well-established, privately owned small animal practice in northeast Indiana. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who values practicing quality medicine, building meaningful client relationships, and creating a long-term career in a supportive, independently owned environment. We understand that today's veterinarians are looking for more than just compensation. They are looking for sustainability, flexibility, autonomy, and a quality of life outside the clinic. At Albion Veterinary Clinic, we are committed to building exactly that for the right doctor. Our practice has an established and loyal client base, an experienced support staff, and a strong reputation in the community. We are looking for a veterinarian who wants to practice excellent medicine while enjoying a schedule designed to support both professional success and personal well-being. This position offers a flexible schedule of approximately 3 to 3.5 days per week, allowing for an exceptional work-life balance. There are no corporate production quotas, no unnecessary administrative layers, and no pressure to practice medicine a certain way. We believe in trusting our doctors, supporting their clinical judgment, and creating an environment where both our team and our patients thrive. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys general practice medicine, values client communication, and is looking for a long-term home where they can grow professionally. Special interests in surgery, dentistry, ultrasound, or internal medicine are welcomed but not required. New graduates who are looking for mentorship are encouraged to apply, as are experienced veterinarians seeking greater autonomy and a healthier pace. One of the unique advantages of this opportunity is lifestyle. Our location allows for multiple living options depending on your goals. You can choose the convenience of northern Fort Wayne, including the highly regarded Northwest Allen County Schools area, or enjoy quiet rural living with acreage and country surroundings closer to Albion while remaining within an easy drive of Fort Wayne amenities. Compensation includes a competitive base salary with production bonus opportunities, paid continuing education, licensing and professional dues, paid time off, retirement options, and scheduling flexibility. Compensation will be tailored to experience, skill set, and long-term goals. Most importantly, we understand that the best veterinarians are often not actively searching. If you are simply curious whether there may be a better fit for your career and your life, we welcome a confidential conversation.
Qualified candidates should have:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited veterinary program Current DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date Ability to efficiently manage a fast-paced appointment schedule while maintaining high-quality patient care Confidence performing routine soft tissue surgery, dentistry, wellness care, diagnostics, and case management Strong diagnostic, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making skills Excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and support staff Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an experienced support team Commitment to practicing compassionate, high-quality medicine and building long-term client relationships Preferred but not required: Experience in high-volume small animal general practice, urgent care, or emergency medicine Experience with ultrasound, advanced dentistry, internal medicine, or surgery Interest in long-term clinical leadership within an established private practice
