Job Description
Eaton County Humane Society - Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic Olivet, Michigan The Eaton County Humane Society is seeking a full-time veterinarian to join our established low-cost spay/neuter clinic and wellness center. As an independent nonprofit organization, our mission is to reduce pet overpopulation and expand access to affordable veterinary care in our community. Since reorganizing as a clinic in 2018, we have performed nearly 30,000 spay and neuter surgeries and continue to provide essential wellness services for cats and dogs. We are approaching an exciting milestone of 30,000 surgeries — and we are looking for a veterinarian who wants to play an important role in our next chapter of growth. About Our Clinic Team of 4 part-time veterinarians Support staff of 11 veterinary technicians, assistants, and reception team members Dedicated volunteers who assist regularly Neo practice management software In-house IDEXX diagnostics and reference laboratory services Digital dental radiography, high-speed dental unit, and dental table Online client scheduling through our website We currently perform 20-40 cat spay/neuter surgeries per day, depending on staffing. Due to space limitations, we perform feline spay/neuter procedures only. As our only full-time veterinarian, this role offers the opportunity to help shape clinical protocols, support staff training, and contribute to the continued development of our services. Responsibilities Perform high-volume feline spay/neuter surgeries Provide wellness exams and preventive care for dogs and cats Perform routine dental procedures for dogs and cats Maintain high standards of patient care and surgical safety Collaborate with an experienced and dedicated support team Qualifications DVM or VMD degree Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Michigan Surgery experience preferred Commitment to community-focused veterinary care Schedule Four- or five-day work week available, based on candidate preference Compensation & Benefits $75,000-$90,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience) Two weeks paid time off annually Full licensing renewal reimbursement Continuing education support (evaluated case by case) 20% employee pet care discount (in accordance with federal law) As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to maintaining a supportive, stable workplace where your work has a direct and measurable impact on animal welfare in our community.
