Position Summary:

Veterinarians are primarily responsible for the care of our patients and by extension, our clients. This role is well suited for someone who possesses the ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously without lacking in patient care. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as veterinarians work closely with clients, support staff, and fellow doctors to ensure excellent patient outcomes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced and adaptable environment. Attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and a strong commitment to patient safety are keys to success in this role.

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to: Work and adhere to a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free workplace. Able to lift 50 pounds on occasion. Able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time. Flexible work schedule with the ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays (excluding Thanksgiving & Christmas). Maintain confidentiality of all information received or learned while working at UrgentPet Columbia.

Education/Qualifications:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or an accepted equivalent degree. Veterinary licensure within Missouri. DEA licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure. 1+ year of experience in urgent or emergency medicine. Comfortable working as the only veterinarian on site and comfortable with or willing to learn emergency surgeries such as foreign body removal, pyometra, C-sections, etc. Position to start in or after September 2026.
