Job Description

Veterinary Assistant / Certified Veterinary Technician (VA/CVT) - Job Description We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing small animal practice. This role works closely with our doctors and medical team to provide high-quality patient care while creating a positive experience for both clients and their pets.

Responsibilities:
Assist doctors and medical staff with patient care, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures Safely handle and restrain animals during exams and treatments Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records Perform or assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, sample collection, and medication preparation Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate concerns to the medical team Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment Assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures based on experience and certification level Educate clients on medications, preventative care, treatments, and discharge instructions Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation throughout the clinic Work collaboratively with all team members in a fast-paced environment Help support training, teamwork, and overall clinic efficiency
Qualifications:
Previous veterinary experience preferred
CVT/LVT/RVT
certification preferred for technician applicants - willing to train the right candidate Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills Compassion for animals and excellent client service skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift, restrain, and handle animals safely Positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to continue learning
JOB SPECIFICATIONS 7
hours minimum of continuing education every year is required Able to work long hours (10+ hours) Must be reliable and dependable Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must have the ability to communicate well with clients under all conditions and at all times Must be organized, efficient and able to multi-task
