Job Description
At PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic, we believe veterinary medicine can be both high-quality and human. Our team is made up of experienced urgent care and emergency professionals who are passionate about patient care, teamwork, and creating a positive workplace culture. We work hard, support each other, laugh often, and genuinely care about the people beside us. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on patient care, and wants to continue growing their skills alongside an experienced medical team. Schedule Our full-time team members enjoy a predictable rotating schedule that allows for consistency both inside and outside of work. Because the rotation stays the same, team members are able to plan ahead for vacations, appointments, family time, concerts, weddings, or simply having time to recharge without constantly wondering what their schedule will look like month to month. We also provide a tentative yearly schedule to make long-term planning easier.

Monday-Friday:
10am-8:00pmSaturday-Sunday:
10am-7:00pm Your shifts begin at 9:45am and you receive 30 minute breaks (We mean it! Take your break!) Off on Major Holidays (New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) Early Dismissal onChristmas Eve and New Year's Eve Rotating Two-Week Schedule:

Monday and Friday-Sunday (Off 4 Days, 3 Day Weekend) This rotation provides regular extended time off, including rotating 3-day weekends throughout the schedule. What You'll Do Assist veterinarians and technicians with urgent care appointments and treatments Safely restrain patients for exams, diagnostics, and procedures Obtain patient histories using the CoVet Assistant and assist with compassionate client communication throughout the visit Support radiology, laboratory sample collection, medication preparation, and treatments Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hospital workflow efficiency Help create a welcoming, compassionate experience for clients and patients during stressful situations Jump in where needed and support the team during busy shifts What We're Looking For Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred (urgent care or ER experience is a plus) Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Compassionate, dependable, kind, and adaptable personality Comfortable with patient restraint and handling of dogs and cats Basic understanding of veterinary terminology and workflow Positive attitude and willingness to learn Why Our Team Loves Working Here Supportive leadership that values mentorship and growth Collaborative team culture with experienced ER-trained staff Opportunity to learn advanced urgent care skills Modern equipment and digital workflow systems Focus on psychological safety, teamwork, and respect No overnight shifts and no on-call shifts Off every other weekend and major holidays Birthday and milestone celebrations, hospital bingo, and performance incentives Our facility partners with CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets and has an on-site Cardiologist Benefits Our Comprehensive benefit package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling Continuing education allowance and professional development support Mental Health Resources Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave Perks for Your Pets Too!
