Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant, where your passion for animal care and enthusiasm for supporting veterinary professionals will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This energetic role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, clinical procedures, and client communication. As a vital member of our clinic, you will assist with animal care, laboratory tasks, and front desk duties, ensuring a smooth and compassionate experience for every patient. Responsibilities Provide exceptional animal care by feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring pets' health status. Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint and handling. Administer medications and treatments accurately following veterinary instructions while maintaining aseptic techniques. Support laboratory work including sample collection, processing, and basic testing to aid diagnosis. Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and maintaining patient records with professionalism. Ensure proper animal restraint during procedures to promote safety for both animals and staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment in compliance with hygiene standards. Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices to support team efforts effectively. Experience Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly valued. Experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures enhances your ability to support urgent cases. Hands-on experience with animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and laboratory tasks is advantageous. Knowledge of pet behavior management including dog handling and equine experience is beneficial. Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, aseptic techniques, and veterinary terminology is essential for success in this role. Previous front desk or client service experience in a veterinary clinic helps ensure excellent communication with pet owners.
