Job Description

Veterinary Technician Assistant Pepperell, MA 01463 From $18 an hour - Full-time From $18 an hour - Full-time Do you want to practice veterinary medicine the way it was meant to be practiced — knowing your patients by name, having the time to explain things to owners, and working alongside a team that actually has your back? We'd love to meet you. About PVMC Preventive Veterinary Medicine Clinic has been caring for the pets of Pepperell, Dunstable, Townsend, and the surrounding towns since 1983. We're a family-owned, AAHA-accredited small animal practice housed in a beautifully renovated 200-year-old barn on a working farm — the kind of place where clients bring us cookies at Christmas and we remember their dog's favorite treat.
Our purpose is simple:
empower owners with the knowledge to give their pets the healthiest, happiest life possible. We lead with preventive care, we treat every pet like family, and we're building a team that takes the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Technician Assistant at PVMC, you'll be a core part of the medical team. Day-to-day, that looks like: Supporting our DVMs and technicians during exams, procedures, and surgeries Safely and calmly restraining patients — especially the nervous ones who need extra patience Keeping exam rooms, surgical areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready Assisting with feeding, bathing, recovery care, and general patient comfort Maintaining accurate records in Avimark and helping keep the day moving smoothly Communicating clearly with owners in plain language, so they leave knowing the "why" and the "what's next" What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic Familiarity with Avimark (or comparable PIMS — we'll get you up to speed on our workflows) A genuine love of learning — someone who asks "why?" and wants to keep growing A service-oriented mindset toward both pets and people, including teammates Calm, steady temperament in a busy room — especially when clients are stressed or scared Strong attention to detail; you notice the small things Dependability and good communication — you show up, on time, ready to work Who Thrives Here PVMC is a small-animal clinic with a small, tight-knit team. That means you'll wear a few different hats, know every patient that walks through the door, and have real influence on how we do things. If you've been looking for an alternative to the corporate-clinic grind — somewhere warm, calm, and clear — you'll fit right in. We're especially interested in people who want to grow with the clinic long-term. Our skill-based pay progression rewards that growth, and we actively support team members who want to work toward becoming a Veterinary Technician or eventually a Certified Veterinary Technician. What We Offer Four-day work week — real work/life balance, no weekends Skill-based pay progression that rewards experience and growth (competitive, with clear advancement steps) Paid holidays, paid vacation, and paid personal/sick time Annual continuing education budget plus paid CE hours Employee discounts on exams, treatments, imaging, lab work, and inventory Bereavement leave, jury duty pay, and other standard benefits A workplace that genuinely values respect, teamwork, and keeping things fun How to Apply If this sounds like the kind of clinic you've been hoping to find, we'd love to hear from you.
