Job Description

The Animal Medical Center of Emmett is currently seeking out multiple qualified candidates for our veterinary technician position. Our mixed animal practice is fast paced and rapidly growing, while we are a mixed animal practice, we are needing qualified small animal technicians . Our mission is to provide exceptional patient and client care; our applicants should have the same values. We are currently offering full time or part time positions, alternating Saturday's, potential for swing shift and on call shifts. Any applicants should have previous veterinary technician/ assistant experience in a clinical setting. Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment. Perform animal restraint using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, including sample collection and processing, to aid in accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and medical histories with precision. Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery. Handle X-ray procedures and ensure proper positioning for clear imaging while maintaining aseptic techniques. Manage kennel areas by cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals' health status regularly. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or treatment tasks. Support animal husbandry practices for diverse species including dogs, cats, and equine animals. Help with pet grooming and training activities to promote positive behavior and comfort. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during animal handling and veterinary procedures. Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care techniques. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray imaging, and aseptic techniques in a veterinary setting. Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization, and pet grooming. Familiarity with dental terminology relevant to veterinary dentistry procedures. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining compassionate care standards. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients. Intubation, blood draws, IV catheter placement. Experience in Dental cleaning procedures and surgical monitoring Prior veterinary technician experience is preferred; however, motivated entry-level candidates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply. Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
