Over the past several years, the business has experienced significant growth and is now entering the next phase of operational scale. The company operates with an entrepreneurial mindset and EOS structure, combining strong field execution with a high-accountability culture focused on professionalism, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. This role represents a critical leadership hire for the future of the organization. About the Role We are seeking a VP of Construction Operations to take ownership of a fast-growing construction division responsible for large-scale commercial electrical projects throughout the region. This is not simply a project oversight role. This is a leadership role focused on building people, operational systems, accountability, and long-term scalability across the construction organization. The business already has strong technical expertise in-house, including senior project managers, master electricians, and field leadership. The organization is looking for a leader who can unify teams, drive operational execution, develop talent, and create consistency across the division. The right candidate could come from electrical construction, broader construction operations, commercial trades, industrial services, or military technical leadership backgrounds. Deep electrical expertise is valuable, but leadership capability, operational ownership, coaching ability, and the capacity to learn quickly are equally important. Build trust, relationships, and credibility with field leaders, project managers, and technical experts across the organization. 6Months:
Fully assume day-to-day leadership of construction operations and create operational clarity across the division. 12+Months:
Develop leaders, strengthen culture, improve execution consistency, and help establish the company as the employer of choice for electricians in the region. Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership Lead all construction operations across field execution, project management, manpower planning, and operational workflows. Oversee approximately 50 field personnel, superintendents, project managers, and construction leadership staff. Drive accountability, execution standards, and operational consistency across projects. Improve communication and coordination between field teams, project management, estimating, and executive leadership. Create operational rhythms, reporting structures, and performance visibility across the division. Team Leadership & Development Coach and develop project managers, field leadership, and future operational leaders. Build a culture centered around accountability, humility, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Serve as a visible field leader willing to spend time on jobsites and alongside teams. Help recruit, retain, and develop top operational and field talent. Financial & Operational Performance Own divisional operational performance including project execution, labor productivity, schedule adherence, and operational efficiency. Partner with finance and leadership teams on forecasting, budgeting, workforce planning, and resource allocation. Improve operational predictability, execution quality, and throughput across active projects. Support scalable growth while maintaining operational discipline. Relationship Management Build strong relationships internally across field and office teams. Develop credibility with project managers, technical experts, clients, contractors, and industry partners. Collaborate closely with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure strong operational handoffs. Process Improvement & Scaling Identify operational gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies. Improve systems, workflows, communication, and reporting structures across the organization. Support implementation of operational tools and technology to improve visibility and execution. Help professionalize and scale the organization without losing its entrepreneurial culture. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven operational leader with experience leading construction, commercial trades, industrial services, or technical field organizations. Experience leading large teams across field operations and project execution. Strong coaching, mentoring, and people development skills. Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-growth environments. Able to build trust quickly with technical experts and field personnel. Strong operational problem-solving ability and sound decision-making under pressure. High accountability, high ownership mentality. EOS exposure or experience operating inside structured accountability systems is a plus. Military leadership backgrounds with technical operational experience are highly valued. Qualifications 10+ years of operational leadership experience in construction, trades, industrial services, or related industries. Experience overseeing project execution, field operations, and operational teams. P&L ownership or strong operational financial accountability preferred. Electrical construction experience is beneficial but not mandatory for the right leadership profile. Strong communication and leadership presence across both field and executive environments.Pay:
