This role may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be expected to perform additional duties as requested. Cut grass and weeds with hand or power mowers, rakes grass and leaves, trims hedges or shrubbery, and grades lawns and park areas. Picks up and disposes of rubbish, tree branches, food waste, and other waste and litter. Assists in planting, transplanting, pruning, trees and plants. Maintains baseball/softball diamonds, and performs other general maintenance of parks, building and grounds, and daily cleaning of park buildings, including painting. There would be an expectation that the hired employee would work approximately 20-25 hours per week from the beginning of June to approximately October, but it can be negotiated based on the candidate availability. Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Must have a valid Wisconsin driver's license. Ability to operate a variety of mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimum of direct supervision. Ability to communicate effectively, and exercise good judgment, courtesy and tact when dealing with the general public. Ability to operate Village equipment in a safe manner.
