The Elma School District is accepting applications for the following coaching position: 2026 - 2027Elma Middle School Volleyball Assistant Coach Season Start Date:
2/22/2027Extracurricular Salary Stipend Range:
$ 2,475.72 - $2,694.12 (Will be updated per EEA CBA Salary Schedule 2026-2027)Benefits Include:
I-1433 Sick Leave, the employee will accrue at least one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours workedWashington Paid Family Medical Leave Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED is required Must be at least 19 years or older A valid First Aid/CPR Certification Card Must have a WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance check Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the sport skill. Strategy and rules Prior coaching experience or playing experience in the sport is given preference Regular attendance is an essential function of this position The safety and health of students and others are essential functions of this positionPreferred Qualifications:
Previous middle school coaching experience Previous volleyball participation and/or coaching experienceResponsibilities:
Provide direct leadership and organization for all levels of the assigned sport/activity Provide direct ongoing supervision of all athletes, manage before/during/after all practices/conditioning sessions, games/travel, and other school-sanctioned events Develop appropriate objectives for the assigned sport/activity Maintain knowledge of league and district rules and regulations related directly to the assigned sport/activity, student participation, and parent/community involvement Continually teach and emphasize safety procedures and precautions to all athletes Report all injuries to the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and complete appropriate report(s) Immediately reports all violations or suspected violations of established rules and regulations to the Head Coach, and Athletic Director Organizes and conducts, in coordination with the Head Coach, and Athletic Director, parent meetings prior to the season and provides ongoing parent communication throughout the season Provide guidance, leadership, and the fundamental skills necessary to execute the program in a successful manner Assume the leadership role in relation to team organization, style of play, practice schedules, equipment, and assigned responsibilities Assume responsibility for clearing all athletes who are returning to play after an injury through the Athletic Director Monitors student compliance with all provisions of the ESD #68 Athletic Code and comply with WIAA Rules and Regulations Organizes awards and recognition for athletes/participantsApplication Process :
