Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Volunteer and make a meaningful impact in your community! This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your time and skills toward causes that matter, fostering positive change and supporting organizational goals. As a Volunteer, you will engage directly with community members, assist with various programs, and help create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. This paid position is designed to empower you while providing valuable experience and personal growth opportunities. Responsibilities 1) Provide non-medical support services according to agency policies and procedures including: a. Provides emotional support to patients/families b. Provides companionship to patient c. Provides relief to family caregivers d. Assists families with household chores e. Attends IDT/IDG conferences, as appropriate f. Reports response of patient/family to hospice staff 2) Contacts client household and conducts first visit within designated time frame. 3) Develops visit schedule and service plan with patient/family and Volunteer Coordinator, as per IDT plan of care. 4) Notifies Volunteer Coordinator promptly when: there is any change in patient/family situation which could affect the service plan or the plan of care; there is a need for a substitute volunteer; there is need for more intensive support; the volunteer needs to take a leave-of absence or discontinue services; the client dies. 5) Accurately completes Monthly Volunteer Report according to specified time frames. Completes any additional documentation as requested by Volunteer/Bereavement Coordinator. 6) Completes agency volunteer training and continuing education hours as required. 7) Hospice volunteers with additional training also help provide support to the families of hospice patients for 13 months following the death of the patient. Volunteer Requirements Background check with fingerprinting TB skin test - provided by agency Valid Driver's License and Car Insurance Join us in creating positive change!
