Job Description ITG Communications is hiring a Warehouse Assistant in
Gardiner, ME Purpose:
The Warehouse Assistant supports the daily warehouse operations by assisting in inventory handling, shipping, receiving, and facility organization. This hands-on role is essential in maintaining the flow of goods, equipment, and supplies within the warehouse and supporting the Operations Manager in delivering efficient, accurate, and compliant service to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, store, and secure all supplies, materials, and assets when delivered. Set-up a stock issue and control system that will account for and track all materials used in our construction process. Maintain all received inventory in an organized and efficient manner. Assign and account for all assets, CPE, materials, and vehicles issued to employees daily. Maintain a "shelf stock" of materials, tools and any other job required supplies. Conduct a complete physical inventory each month that will account for all materials stored, received, and issued from the warehouse and yard. Assist in the management, maintenance and upkeep of fleet tools and equipment. Follow all company policy and procedures. Adhere to safety policy. Drive company vehicles, box trucks, and forklift Communicate with Supervisors and Customers Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The formal education and experience for the Warehouse and Assets Manager job description varies according to the nature of the job responsibilities. However, the following are commonly required for this role. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Job Requirements Possess a valid driver's license (class "C" minimum) and be willing to obtain a commercial class driver's license if required for the position (possibly class "B"
  • light commercial) Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions. Availability to work early/late hours. Able to perform the essential functions required in this position for the entire assigned shift. Ability to maintain safe driving practices at all times while driving a Company owned vehicle. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit
  • 6-8 hours daily.
Ability to use hands to handle or feel. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Ability to climb and balance. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs regularly. Ability to lift up to 100lbs rarely. Ability to maintain all safety expectations. Ability to drive covered vehicles.
NOTE :
This position may require an employee to lift HEAVY OBJECTS and assist in positioning of large Cable Reels along with associated equipment such as loaded cable trailers, strand reels, etc. It shall be understood that these tasks will only be accomplished with the assistance of other employees or using powered equipment. Additionally, proper lifting and handling techniques are to be followed. These are outlined in the Employee Handbook. Key Competencies Technical Skills
