Job Title:
Warehouse Associate / Packager 1st Shift 6am-2:30pm $18.50/hr -- 2nd Shift 2pm-10:30pm $19.50/hr Job Description The Warehouse Associate / Packager supports production operations by filling, labeling, packaging, and palletizing grease products according to established specifications. In this role, you set up and adjust equipment, follow detailed fill sheets and written instructions, and ensure all packaged materials meet customer and quality requirements. You maintain a clean, safe work environment, report safety or mechanical concerns promptly, and work collaboratively across all production areas. The position requires strong basic math skills, the ability to read and follow written instructions in English, and the physical capability to lift heavy containers and work in a high‑heat factory environment. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and adjust filling and dispensing equipment, including valves, scales, and control systems, for grease and related products. Prepare containers for filling by ensuring they are clean, correctly labeled or stenciled, and meet product specifications. Fill, seal, and package containers ranging from 50‑lb units to 400‑lb drums according to established procedures and customer requirements. Palletize packaged products safely and efficiently, ensuring stable and accurate stacking for storage and shipment. Follow work orders, fill sheets, and written specifications to ensure correct product, quantity, and packaging configuration. Calibrate and verify scales and other measurement devices to maintain accurate fill weights and volumes. Monitor equipment during operation, recognize malfunctions or irregularities, and report issues promptly to minimize downtime. Inspect products and packaging for quality, including correct labels, measurements, and overall appearance, and take action when defects are identified. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area by following housekeeping standards and cleaning up spills or debris. Adhere to all safety procedures, standard work methods, and personal protective equipment requirements in a high‑heat, industrial environment. Document production activity as required, including counts, weights, lot information, and any issues encountered during the shift. Collaborate with supervisors and team members across all production areas to meet daily production goals and resolve issues. Rotate across multiple production tasks and stations as needed to support overall workflow and coverage. Manage time effectively to meet production schedules, minimize downtime, and keep packaging and filling operations running smoothly. Perform repetitive packaging and filling tasks while maintaining consistent productivity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Essential Skills Experience with filling and dispensing operations, including setting up and operating filling equipment, valves, scales, and dispensing systems. Proficiency in packaging and palletizing, including labeling, stenciling, sealing, and stacking containers from 50‑lb units to 400‑lb drums. Ability to read and accurately follow fill sheets, work orders, and written product specifications. Basic mechanical aptitude to recognize equipment malfunctions and report issues promptly. Ability to operate production controls such as valves, switches, and control systems safely and correctly. Strong basic math and measurement skills for weights, volumes, and fill accuracy. Commitment to safety compliance, including following standard work methods and PPE requirements in a high‑heat industrial environment. Awareness of quality control standards and the ability to identify product and packaging quality issues. Ability to keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly to understand instructions and document production activity. Collaborative approach to working with supervisors and team members across production areas. Adaptability and willingness to rotate across multiple production tasks as needed. Physical ability to lift 50‑lb containers, palletize heavy drums, and stand or walk for extended periods. Comfort working in a factory environment that may reach extreme temperatures in summer. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic, consistently arriving ready to work and maintaining steady productivity. Additional Skills & Qualifications Attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, measurements, and adherence to product specifications. Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production schedules. Problem‑solving ability to quickly identify issues with equipment, materials, or workflow and alert supervisors when needed. Experience with general labor tasks in a warehouse or production environment. Inventory handling or inventory control processes. Familiarity with pallets, palletizing techniques, and safe material handling practices. Experience using RF scanners in a warehouse or production setting. Previous exposure to packaging operations and quality control checks in a manufacturing environment. Comfort performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and speed. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Batavia, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.
