We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Associate to join our team at Bluegrass Lumber & Hardware, a leading building material supplier. This position offers a unique blend of warehouse duties and occasional delivery responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys physical work, and has a customer-first attitude. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations, ensuring that materials are properly stored, organized, and shipped efficiently. Additionally, you will occasionally assist with local deliveries, providing exceptional service and ensuring that materials arrive safely and on time to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Duties:

Material Handling:

Receive, unload, and organize building materials and supplies in the warehouse. Ensure all inventory is accurately stocked and easily accessible.

Order Fulfillment:

Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment or customer pickup, ensuring that all items are correct and securely packaged.

Inventory Management:

Assist with regular inventory checks, restocking shelves, and maintaining accurate stock levels. Report any discrepancies to management.

Safety & Cleanliness:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company safety standards.

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Delivery Responsibilities (Occasional):

Local Deliveries:

Drive a company vehicle to deliver building materials to customer sites within a designated delivery area. Ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service during delivery by communicating clearly and professionally with customers. Address any questions or concerns they may have upon delivery.

Loading and Unloading:

Ensure that materials are loaded onto the vehicle safely and securely for transport and unloaded at the customer site with care.

Documentation:

Accurately complete delivery paperwork, including delivery logs, receipts, and any special instructions.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role preferred, but not required. Experience with delivery driving (local, non-long distance) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), stand, bend, and move around the warehouse throughout the day.

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to operate warehouse equipment.

Skills:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Customer-focused with a positive attitude.
