Job Description

Under the supervision of office management and/or project Associate, the Warehouse Associate supports the company's warehouse operations through receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. The Warehouse Associate prepares and maintains records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and materials and equipment used or issued. Principal Accountabilities - This position requires daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities that must be completed in a timely manner. Scan and track incoming and outgoing material shipments and equipment. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to (position title). Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Advise customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested. Confer with engineering, purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability. Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing or assembling them, as necessary. Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location, based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts, etc. Label stock items, using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. This position requires at least the following minimum requirements: GED or High School equivalent with 1 year warehouse experience, preferably in a telecommunications warehouse. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory tracking software. Must be able to drive and operate a forklift, MUST BE CERTIFIED or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Must possess a valid driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, tugging, stooping, bending, twisting, crawling and handling of materials. Position requires manual dexterity, ability to pick/pinch and work with fingers, repetitive motions of wrists/hands/finger, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Essential ability to work with others to resolve issues and maintain composure in an environment of changing priorities. Strong customer service orientation and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Must be able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance. Knowledge of all company policies and procedures.
