Full Job Description Job Description:
As a Warehouse Laborer, your primary responsibility will be to support the smooth operations of the warehouse by assisting with various tasks related to material handling, organization, and maintenance. You will work as part of a team and report directly to the Warehouse Foreman. This physically demanding role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling :
Safely and efficiently load, unload, and move steel materials using appropriate tools, equipment, and machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes. •
Inventory Management:
Accurately record incoming and outgoing steel materials, and assist in maintaining an organized inventory. •
Order Fulfillment :
Assist in fulfilling customer orders by retrieving and preparing the materials based on order specifications and packaging them appropriately for shipping. •
Quality Control :
Inspect steel materials for any signs of damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the Inventory Manager. •
Safety Compliance :
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Meet MIOSHA workplace standards. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training programs. •
Equipment Maintenance :
Conduct routine maintenance checks on tools and equipment, and promptly report any malfunctions or repairs needed. •
Warehouse Organization :
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse space by arranging steel materials, sweeping floors, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials properly. •
Shipping Preparation :
Prepare items for shipping or distribution, including labeling, packaging, and securing them for transport. •
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with other warehouse personnel and communicate any issues or concerns to ensure efficient workflow and productivity. • Adherence to
Policies :
Follow company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and code of conduct. •
Quality Standards :
Meet
ISO 9001
standards by adhering to production procedures as prescribed in Factory Steels Quality and Procedures Manual. •
Equipment Operation :
Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, to move items within the warehouse safely and efficiently •
Unloading and Loading Trucks :
Assist with unloading and loading trucks. •
Inventory :
Accurately put away inventory
Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
