Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description This role supports daily warehouse operations by performing shipping and receiving activities, stocking and organizing inventory, and accurately processing orders using RF scanning equipment. The warehouse worker helps maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized environment while handling materials and preparing products for shipment. Responsibilities Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading materials and products. Stock shelves and storage areas, ensuring items are placed in the correct locations. Sort packages and organize items to maintain an orderly warehouse layout. Pick orders accurately and efficiently to meet shipping and production requirements. Pack boxes and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures. Use RF scanners and RF scan guns to scan, label, and mark products and inventory. Maintain accurate inventory by scanning, counting, and recording items as directed. Operate manual pallet jacks and perform material handling tasks safely and efficiently. Assist with warehouse production activities as needed to support daily operations. Follow all safety guidelines while working around forklifts, hand carts, and other equipment. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of obstructions to support a safe work environment. Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads and complete tasks within required timeframes. Essential Skills 3-6 months of related warehouse or general labor experience. High School Diploma or GED. Experience with general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and material handling. Ability to perform shipping and receiving activities. Experience with stocking, stocking shelves, and sorting items. Ability to use RF scanners, RF scan guns, and other scanning equipment. Experience with picking orders, packing boxes, and packing orders. Familiarity with warehouse production and shipping processes. Ability to operate a manual pallet jack safely. Basic inventory handling skills, including counting and tracking items. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Ability to follow safety procedures and work around moving equipment such as forklifts and hand carts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior warehouse experience is preferred. Comfort working in varying temperature conditions throughout the year. Willingness to learn operation of CROWN trucks upon permanent hire. Strong attention to detail when scanning, labeling, and marking inventory. Ability to stay organized and maintain an orderly work area. Work Environment You work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with narrow aisles where forklifts and hand carts move frequently in clearly defined, safety-conscious directions. The use of cellphones or personal electronics is not permitted in the warehouse to maintain focus and safety. Temperature conditions vary with the seasons: the warehouse is heated in the winter to around 60 degrees, and it can become very warm in the summer, with fans and water coolers available throughout the facility. You should dress in light, breathable layers suitable for changing temperatures. Acceptable footwear includes sneakers, boots, or steel-toe shoes, while open-toe shoes, sandals, flats, and heels are not allowed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
