Fort Riley Regular Full Time Job Description Shift Availabilty:
Mon-Fri 0700-1530 Under designated supervision, performs a variety of clerical and manual duties related to receiving and processing merchandise and supplies, to include record keeping, document preparation and selecting storage/shelving locations in the facility or stockroom, as appropriate. Ensures the proper receipt, verification and documentation of merchandise/supplies. As required, posts sell prices on documents. Records discrepancies or damaged shipments, initiates appropriate corrective action and completes necessary documentation. Signs receiving reports and other accountable documents and processes receipt through appropriate systems using a VDT/PC or other equipment. Processes damaged/defective merchandise returned for repair or replacement. Maintains records and takes follow-up action, as necessary. Completes various merchandising documents and reports, as required, either manually or by appropriate systems using VDT/PC or other equipment. As necessary, assembles and segregates merchandise (bicycles, grills, etc.) for delivery and prepares appropriate documentation. Assists in taking stock counts and official inventories. As required, may operate motor vehicles, not to exceed 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. May operate forklift not to exceed 10,000 pounds lifting capacity. Maintains compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security requirements within stockroom area. Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the Military Star credit card to customers in order to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty. Performs other related duties as assigned. So what can you expect as a Warehouse Receiver at the Exchange? Follow all safety guidelines and operating procedures Deliver extraordinary customer experience by engaging customers and prioritizing customer needs over tasks Unload, break-out and stock merchandise with efficiency and accuracy Listen to customer needs; ask appropriate follow-up questions to ensure you offer appropriate products that meet the specific need of the customer Able to use computer software to receive a variety of items, to include firearms and other critical merchandise. Works under general supervision. Assignments are received from oral or written instructions. Assignments are completed according to established procedures without specific instructions on the methods, procedures and techniques to use. Supervisor is available to answer questions on unusual matters and to handle specific problems. Completed work is reviewed to ensure that it is performed properly. Works on hard surfaces and in areas which require standing, stooping, bending and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods. Lifts and carries items that weighs up to 40 pounds. Heavy items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from others. Work is performed inside and outside. May work in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty or poorly lighted. May work in bad weather on open docks. Work is often dirty, dusty and greasy. Frequent exposure to cuts, scrapes and bruises, falls from ladders or from materials handling equipment. We know that you can work anywhere. Job Qualifications Education:
High school or equivalent.
Experience:
Six months progressively responsible general work, plus six months warehousing work or closely related work. Must possess the ability, knowledge and skill to operate/use the appropriate systems/software/hardware. May be required to possess a valid drivers license.
