Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Waste Sanitation Sorter on the 2nd shift (4:30pm-1:00am), where you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient waste management environment. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for sorting, cleaning, and handling various waste materials using heavy equipment and sanitation tools. Your efforts will help ensure proper disposal and recycling processes while supporting the overall cleanliness of our manufacturing or waste processing facility. This role offers an engaging opportunity to work with heavy machinery and contribute to environmental sustainability through responsible waste handling. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, and other sanitation machinery to sort and manage waste materials efficiently. Perform heavy lifting tasks to move waste containers, debris, and recyclable materials safely and accurately. Conduct cleaning activities around the facility to maintain hygiene standards and prevent contamination. Sort waste streams by material type to facilitate recycling and proper disposal processes. Assist with the loading and unloading of waste using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Support sanitation operations by maintaining cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and surrounding environments. Follow safety guidelines during heavy equipment operation and sanitation procedures to prevent accidents or injuries. Qualifications Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or garbage trucks is highly preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Knowledge of manufacturing or waste management processes is a plus. Strong attention to safety procedures when handling sanitation equipment and performing cleanup activities. Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety regulations consistently.
