Field Operations Lead We are seeking a Water Restoration Technician to join Big Shoulders Restoration. This is not a typical Technician role — it's an opportunity to help scale one of Chicago's most ambitious restoration businesses. Our headquarters is in Wrigleyville and we are expanding to Crystal Lake. Many experienced Technicians in the restoration industry feel: Stuck under layers of a big company hierarchy, where decisions take too long and money matters more than customers. Key Responsibilities As a Restoration Technician , you'll help restore residential and commercial properties damaged by water, mold, fire, or other losses. You'll work with professional drying and cleaning equipment and be part of a supportive field team.

Day-to-Day Duties:

Assist with demolition, water extraction, and cleanup Set up and monitor drying equipment (dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubbers) Help build containment systems for mold remediation Clean and sanitize affected areas using professional cleaning products Record job documentation and moisture readings Maintain a clean and safe work environment Provide excellent customer service and represent Big Shoulders Restoration professionally Qualifications Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas Must pass a background check Comfortable wearing PPE (respirator, gloves, safety gear) Available for occasional after-hours or weekend emergency jobs Preferred but not required: Experience in restoration, construction, or cleaning industries IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, or AMRT)
