This is a part-time position with an annual weekly average maximum of 29 hours.TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE:
Standard principles of biology, chemistry and mathematics; safety precautions relating to work around machinery and laboratory chemicals; of laboratory procedures and tests performed in monitoring treatment plants and distribution and collection systems and peripheral elements of system.SKILLS:
Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.ABILITIES
Ability to operate a truck and trailer and launch a boat; make mathematical computations; work outdoors in varying weather conditions; follow verbal and written instructions; work around disagreeable odors; keep accurate and legible records; exercise some independent judgment in correcting problems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees and the general public.TRAINING
High School Diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE
No specific requirement or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Perform monitoring and maintenance duties related to the City's water storage reservoirs. Collect water samples from the reservoirs and various points in the system; perform laboratory tests. Read and record gauge and flow meter charts, change charts. Collect monitoring well measurements at City operated reservoirs. Operate a variety of equipment including a lawn tractor, sample collection boat, various hand tools, and laboratory equipment. Perform related work as required and assigned.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
