Summary Project managers are the first point of contact for any issues or discrepancies arising from within the heads of various departments. This position will be responsible for water/wastewater projects across Arkansas and parts of Oklahoma. The Project Manager manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. The Project Manager approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. In addition, the Project Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan and provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Mentoring entry and mid-level engineers within the department. This position is also responsible for developing the project budget. Responsibilities Planning, development, implementation, and evaluation with the management of a wide variety of projects Resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments Maintain the progress, mutual interaction, and tasks of various parties in such a way that reduces the risk of overall failure, maximizes benefits, and minimizes costs Prepares preliminary engineering reports, feasibility studies, master plans, environ- mental information documents and project performance work plans and reports Prepares NPDES, ARDOT, ADEQ, and various railroad and other permits Prepares engineering design drawings using field surveying data, reports, maps, drawings, and topographical and geologic data Conducts pre-construction meetings, pre-bid meetings, periodic construction meetings, prepares contractor pay requests Manages CAD, surveying, clerical and other support staff directly involved with the project to ensure adherence to standards and delivery of project on schedule and within budget Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited college. Knowledge of ADEQ and ADH regulations, policies, and procedures Understanding of Ten States Standards Thorough understanding of water and wastewater system infrastructure design Shows initiative, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and exercises independent judgment Ability to manage project schedules and budgets Strong communication, writing, technical and analytical skills Ability to interact with private and municipal clients Proficient in Microsoft Office Able to work with the AutoCad software suite, with an emphasis on Civil 3D Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy. Preferred 5 years of design experience Arkansas and/or Oklahoma P.E. licensure Travel Most travel is limited to short or day trips to visit jobsites, meet clients, etc. Overnight trips are generally not required.
