Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and versatile Water/Consolidated Maintenance Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will maintain the City of Lincoln water/sewer system and streets by performing the following duties: Duties Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to insure the uninterrupted flow of water and sewer lines. Tests water samples to locate water or sewer leaks. Take monthly meter readings Install and repair water and sewer lines as necessary insuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, motors, pumps and other equipment. Make water and sewer taps. Operate various pieces of water department equipment: backhoe, pressure washer, street saw, pipe locating devices, etc. Replace and repair water meters. Cut brush, perform pick and shovel work when necessary, painting, unloading 100 pound bags of chemicals for water/wastewater Be available to work overtime and weekends as necessary. Also be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency situations. Other street and sanitation maintenance duties may be assigned. Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver License. Must either have or obtain an Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) Water Distribution I license and an Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Class I Wastewater license. CDL preferred

From $19.00 per hour
