WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING
Summary:
The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for all finished door and accessory assembly operations at Waudena and ensuring efficiency throughout the process. It is the responsibility of the Assembly Supervisor to supervisor the assembly staff, be aware of all production goals, and anticipate problems that could impact long term goals, including quality control and establishing high standards of workmanship. In order to be an effective Assembly Supervisor, the Supervisor must be a fluent communicator and have a practical understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, all while maintaining positive relations with all internal levels of the organization. Duties to include, (but not limited to):
  • Train and support the assembly team on the proper use of safety equipment and procedures as set forth by the Company and required within the assembly processes at Waudena.
  • Ensures employees follow proper procedures, processes and comply with company protocols and policies
  • Provides recommendations of matters of significance which are related to the hiring, firing, advancement or any other change of employee status.
  • Handle all employment responsibilities for staff; timecard and vacation scheduling, performance reviews, coaching and discipline/correction action process.
  • Supervisor the day to day logistical and functional operations of the assembly lines at Waudena
  • Serves as a resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice
  • Encourage team effort, supportive attitudes, and ESOP ownership attitudes amongst employees
  • Ensure employees achieve and perform to daily targets and production outputs
  • Participates as an active member of the assembly team and assembles products as required.
  • Drop orders to the production floor as needed.
  • Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated.
  • Visually inspect assembly processes throughout the shift to include operator awareness to maintain quality control
  • Plan and schedule workflow for each assembly operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Monitors, analyzes & reports out performance to schedule of production & production support activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
  • Analyzes requests for maintenance/repair services and determines the validity, content and scope of requested work.
  • Monitor quality, service and delivery issues, and take correction actions as needed.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, implement 5S efforts
  • Participates in SOP development and execution
  • Positively interact with Vendors and Customer as required
Assembly Supervisor Demonstrates:
  • Lead and promote safety culture which aligns with Wausau Supply Company core values
  • Ability to manage multiple demands while communicating effectively through oral and written communications - especially by email
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean methods
  • Ability to work with vendors to problem solve and improve products and processes Education /
Experience:
  • High school diploma and 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working Demands /
Physical Requirements:
  • Clean MVR for situations when travel is needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds at those times when assistance is needed on production floor.
  • Work schedule consists of Mon-Friday, working an anticipated 10-12 hour daily shift.

Waudena Plant Manager Conclusion:
The Waudena Assembly Supervisor will exemplify the high standards that have come to be associated with Wausau Supply Co. As an ESOP owner, acting with honor, integrity, and positivity is imperative. The Waudena Assembly Supervisor prime objective is to oversee the efficiency and quality of all Waudena assembly processes.
