KEISER CORPORATION

, a leading manufacturer of exercise equipment, is looking for an experienced and skilled Welder to cut and join metals at our manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include interpreting designs, monitoring machinery, and assessing welded components. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of welding machinery. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. •This position is a temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.•

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Read drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

COMPETENCIES

Proven experience as welder Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.) Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Deftness and attention to detail Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is preferred Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

Desired Experience Manufacturing:

6+ months (preferred) Schedule 8-hour day shift Monday through Friday Work Environment Fast paced environment with others relying on completion of tasks Standing for 8+ hours a day, breaks limited to scheduled meal and rest periods Hot environment without AC, fans are available in some areas of the building Job tends to be very repetitive so often it is encouraged that employees learn various areas of the department to stay engaged and be more well-rounded Dress code is casual: closed-toed work boots or other leather-type material, no tank tops, no shorts Compensation Based on experience: $16.90-$22.00 per hour Candidates for positions with Keiser Corporation must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
