Job Description

Shift PD Support Technician:
Responsible for working in a safe manner. Also responsible for unloading EAF dust from rail cars into metering bins. Mechanical and Welding skills will be required in order to ensure the Shift PD Support Technician can make necessary repairs to cars so that they are unloaded in a timely manner with no emission to the environment. The shift schedule for this position consists of a 12 hour, NON-rotating, shift on either days (8:00am-8:30pm) or Nights (8:00pm- 8:30am) it is also referred to as the "Every Other Weekend" Schedule.
With a pattern as follows:
14 DAY CYCLE (2 ON, 2 OFF, 3 ON, 2 OFF, 2 ON, 3 OFF)
Job Duties:
  • Shift PD Support Technician is still accountable for all the unloading expectations that accompany the PD Unloader.
  • Additionally, the Shift PD Support Technician will be responsible for making repairs to rail cars and piping as needed.
  • Though there is a PD Welder Tech, there is a high demand for repair work in the PD area, so the Shift PD Support Technician will assist in keeping up with repairs when the PD Tech is occupied on other tasks.
  • Responsible for inputting repairs into Infor in a timely manner.
  • The Shift PD Support Technician will also be delegated to assist with additional tasks as needed, which includes, but is not limited to: Cutting up and properly disposing product hoses, refilling vibrator oilers, changing latches, etc.
  • Accountable for maintaining their work area as well as recognizing and responding to various process failures when they occur.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous Experience in industrial environments is preferred.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently move up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, respirators, protective clothing, gloves, and Safety Harness.
  • Competent with the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be willing to accept accountability and work well within a team.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure and perform duties under stressful situations.
  • Ability to understand and convey verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
  • Basic math and mechanical skills.
  • Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations preferred.
  • Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
MUST be able to work outdoors in ALL types of weather and support our continuous operation on a 12 hour shift (Days and/or Nights).
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
