Job Description
Overview You will be responsible for applying various welding techniques to cut, join, fabricate and repair metal or other weldable materials in support of heavy equipment, construction, excavation, conveyors, and heavy diesel trucks. Working hours are 6am-430pm Mon-Fri, some Saturdays. Responsibilities Able to prepare and complete work using knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. This is a skilled journey-level position requiring ability to design and fabricate parts and equipment or special jigs and holding fixtures for use in equipment repair activities. Reading and interpreting technical shop manuals and electronic reference materials. Candidates must have experience with standard welding and fabrication equipment, including MIG, TIG, electric arc, heliarc, oxyacetylene, plasma cutter, saw, drill press, grinders, and metal brakes. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead directions, and performs structural analysis and reinforcement repairs. Should have working familiarization with heat treat principles, cutting, forming, layout, setup, measurement, and light machining and assembly of components and related equipment. Summary In the role of Welder/Fabricator, you will be essential in executing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks. You will utilize premium skills such as MIG and TIG welding, along with plasma cutting techniques, to meet project requirements. Additionally, your relevant experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge will be a vital part of the role.
