Production Welder Job Description This individual will be responsible for welding & fabricating parts and assemblies for multiple manufactured products, setting up and ensuring the safe operation of a MIG welder according to specifications and be able to pass an on-site welding test. This includes programming and monitoring for appropriate usage and temperatures while welding in the flat, vertical, and overhead positions. The successful candidate should have a steady hand and great attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret basic prints for production builds. Weld small and large components including Stainless steel and Carbon steel, beams, plates, and structural tubing. Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify proper welds and or defects. Requires the ability to stand, crouch, lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective (PPE) clothing (helmet, face-shield, gloves, etc.) Maintains equipment and ensures work area is clean and safe at all times. Performs basic preventative maintenance on welding machine and tools as needed.

Knowledge of:

Trade tools, equipment, materials, reading a tape measure, methods and techniques used in safe welding operations and outstanding attention to details. A high school diploma/GED is required. 1-2 years of experience in metals and welding industry preferred. Some training will be provided on the job. Must be able to pass a Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool. Must pass a background check. Wage is based upon experience.
