2026/2027 School Year The Wildcat Learning Academy (WLA) Coordinator is a part-time, virtual position responsible for coordinating and supporting students assigned to the WLA program, including those who are expelled or receiving homebound instruction, in maintaining academic progress through the Academy's WLA model. The Coordinator ensures students remain engaged in coursework assigned by their teachers of record, facilitates communication between students and staff, and provides structured academic support aligned to the Academy's instructional workflow. This role reinforces student accountability, improves engagement, and ensures alignment between student work completion and teacher expectations within the WLA structure. Terms of Employment Part-time position (12 hours per week) Hourly, non-benefited positionCompensation:
$38.00 per hour Position will start for the 2026/2027 school yearPerformance Responsibilities:
Monitor and support student engagement in Google Classroom to ensure consistent participation and assignment completion. Provide virtual academic support across subject areas, including organization, time management, and study skills. Reinforce expectations for assignment completion as directed by the student's teacher of record. Serve as the primary point of contact for WLA students during assigned hours Coordinate communication between students and classroom teachers as needed to support academic progress. Track student participation, engagement, and completion of work; maintain accurate records of support provided. Identify and escalate concerns related to student engagement, behavior, or academic progress to the administration. Support implementation of individualized student needs, including alignment with IEPs or 504 plans, in collaboration with appropriate staff. Assist students in navigating coursework across multiple content areas, ensuring alignment to assigned work (not replacing teacher instruction). Promote accountability, structure, and consistency within the WLA environment Participate in periodic check-ins with administration regarding student progress and program effectiveness. Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the administration or designee. Professional Practices and Expectations Maintain professionalism in all virtual interactions with students and staff Develop and sustain positive, supportive relationships that promote student accountability and engagement Maintain strict confidentiality of student information Communicate clearly, consistently, and in a timely manner Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic support environment Support the Academy's mission and student-centered approach Working Conditions Fully virtual work environment Requires reliable internet access and the ability to conduct virtual sessions Work is performed during regular school hours and aligned to the student's academic day Scheduled hours are coordinated based on program needs and student schedules Qualifications Connecticut teaching certification preferred (content area) Experience working with secondary students in an academic support, alternative education, or intervention setting Strong working knowledge of Google Classroom and virtual learning platforms Ability to support students across multiple subject areas Strong organizational, communication, and student engagement skills Demonstrated ability to work independently in a virtual environment Understanding of student support systems, including academic and behavioral interventions Application Materials Submit a cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation (within 1 year, including current supervisor) and a complete set of transcripts.
