Our tasting room is located within the stunning Allegretto Vineyard Resort, offering guests a unique and elevated wine country experience. We are seeking a passionate and hospitality-driven Wine Tasting Room Host to deliver exceptional guest experiences through curated tastings and personalized service. Job Summary The Tasting Room Host is responsible for creating memorable wine experiences through seated educational tastings, private hosted experiences, outdoor terrace service, and special events. This role combines hospitality, storytelling, and sales to engage guests and drive wine purchases. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Sales Provide warm, welcoming, and personalized service to all guests Lead engaging wine tastings, incorporating knowledge of wines, viticulture, and AVA storytelling Drive wine sales through education, up-selling, and relationship building Deliver exceptional experiences that encourage repeat visits and wine club engagement Operations & Daily Tasks Operate POS system and process transactions, including shipping orders Answer guest questions regarding wine purchases and shipping Maintain accurate inventory counts and restock wine and supplies Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling and balancing drawers Support administrative tasks such as data entry and guest information collection Tasting Room Maintenance Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the tasting room and outdoor areas Polish and manage glassware, including coordinating with dish washing operations Restock supplies including wine, retail items, and tasting materials Team & Event Support Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment Assist with private events and high-volume service periods Handle inbound/outbound communications including phone calls and package handling Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of wine tasting room or hospitality experience Proven wine sales experience with up-selling ability Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to stand for extended periods while presenting to guests Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Professional, positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Availability to work weekends, evenings, and special events Must be at least 21 years old Preferred Associate's degree or higher Strong wine knowledge and passion for ongoing wine education Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs Ability to work extended hours during events as needed What We Offer Competitive hourly pay + commission opportunities Beautiful work environment in a luxury resort setting Opportunities for wine education and career growth Supportive, team-focused culture
