Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare furniture and wood surfaces for finishing through sanding, cleaning, masking, filling, and repair workApply stains, toners, sealers, paints, lacquers, conversion varnishes, and clear coats using spray equipment and hand-finishing techniquesPerform color matching and finish blending to meet customer specifications and existing finishesRepair scratches, chips, water damage, and finish defects on furniture and cabinetryMaintain clean spray booth and finishing equipmentFollow company quality standards and finishing proceduresInspect completed work to ensure a high-quality final productSafely handle paints, solvents, stains, and finishing materialsWork collaboratively with technicians, upholstery staff, and project managers to complete projects on scheduleMaintain organized workspaces and proper inventory handling of finishing materialsQualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in furniture finishing, cabinet finishing, automotive paint, or related fine finish workExperience with HVLP spray systems and finishing equipmentStrong understanding of wood species, stains, coatings, and finish systemsAbility to color match and blend finishes accuratelyKnowledge of sanding, prep work, and repair techniquesAbility to lift and move furniture pieces safelyStrong attention to detail and craftsmanship mindsetReliable transportation and punctual attendanceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred QualificationsExperience in furniture repair or restorationExperience with custom cabinetry or millwork finishingFamiliarity with water-based and solvent-based finishing systemsOSHA or workplace safety knowledgeWork EnvironmentShop and field work environmentExposure to paints, stains, solvents, and finishing chemicalsUse of PPE including respirators, gloves, and eye protection requiredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experience and skill levelOpportunities for advancement and skill developmentConsistent full-time workPaid holidays and additional benefits may be available based on employment statusWhat Were Looking ForWe are looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of producing premium-quality finishes.
