For over 23 years, the River Church has been faithfully serving Jesus and reaching people for Christ. They have been active in serving the community and strengthening families in Christ. With the opening of a new worship center in 2027, the potential for ministry and impact is even greater. The River is looking for a dynamic individual who has a passion for Jesus and worship. This will be a person who leads well and creates a welcoming environment for all attenders, not only of believers, but also those who are exploring their faith. This person will join a tremendous team of supportive individuals and together, they will seek to transform this community for Jesus. Position Overview The Part-Time Worship Director provides spiritual and musical leadership for Sunday worship services and special worship gatherings. This individual will cultivate a Christ-centered worship environment, develop volunteer teams, and ensure worship services are well-planned, engaging, and technically prepared. This position reports directly to the Lead Pastor and averages 20-25 hours per week. Other responsibilities can be added to make the position full-time. Key Responsibilities 1. Sunday Worship Leadership Plan and lead worship for weekly Sunday morning services. Select songs that align with sermon themes, church vision, and theological values. Prepare chord charts, arrangements, and set lists in advance. Lead worship in a way that engages the congregation spiritually and musically. 2. Weekly Rehearsal Organize and run one weekly rehearsal with the worship team. Prepare music and materials ahead of rehearsal to ensure effective use of time. Provide musical and spiritual guidance to team members. Foster a positive, encouraging team culture. 3. Team Scheduling & Development Schedule musicians and tech team members for Sunday services. Communicate weekly service plans two weeks in advance at a minimum in an organized manner. Recruit, onboard, and develop new volunteers as needed. Build community among the entire team and provide care for team as needed. 5. Technical Oversight Oversee and run audio/visual needs for Sunday services. Prepare and manage service slides and media using ProPresenter. Ensure lyrics, sermon slides, and other media are accurate and ready prior to Sunday. Edit and upload the weekly message Troubleshoot minor technical issues as needed. Assist or coordinate tech support for church events or meeting 6. Office Hours & Administrative Responsibilities Meet regularly with the Lead Pastor or designated supervisor for service planning. Respond to communications in a timely manner. Maintain organized files for music, charts, and service elements. 7. Other Responsibilities Serve at weddings/funerals as needed
