About FCC and Job Description Our Mission and Vision Know Christ, Follow Christ, and Make Christ Known…Always. 1 Cor. 15:58 Forks Community Church exists to lead people to know Christ, follow Christ, and make Christ known…always. The worship ministry advances this mission by helping people know Christ through biblical songs and Scripture, follow Christ through lives of worship and obedience, and make Christ known through a faithful witness in the church and community. Purpose of the Role The Worship Leader provides spiritual and musical leadership that helps our congregation worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). This person leads from a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, shepherds musicians and vocalists, and works with the Lead Pastor to plan worship that honors God, proclaims the gospel, and encourages wholehearted congregational participation. Our Heart for Worship In spirit: We seek sincere worship from the heart, enabled by the Holy Spirit and expressed through prayer, praise, gratitude, and obedience. The Worship Leader models a life of worship shaped by private devotion and humble dependence on God.
In truth:
We worship God as He has revealed Himself in Scripture and through Jesus Christ. Songs, prayers, Scripture readings, and spoken transitions should be biblically faithful, centered on Christ, and consistent with the church's doctrine. Musical excellence serves these purposes. The Worship Leader helps people engage with God and His Word, making the congregation's participation central to service planning and leadership. Musical Style and Song Selection Our primary musical style is contemporary Christian worship, including music associated with Bethel Worship, SEU Worship, Elevation Worship, and similar artists. We also welcome contemporary gospel and traditional hymns that reflect the richness of Christian worship and serve our congregation. Each song is evaluated individually for biblical faithfulness, doctrinal alignment, sing ability, and suitability for the service. An artist or ministry's inclusion here describes musical style; song selection remains subject to pastoral guidance. Maintain a thoughtful balance of familiar songs and new music, using arrangements and keys that support congregational singing.
