Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Wound Treatment Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, develop, and implement comprehensive wound care plans for residents with complex wounds, ensuring optimal healing and comfort. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing residents' well-being through expert wound management and patient-centered care. Duties Conduct thorough assessments of residents' wounds, including measurements, documentation, and physiological evaluations using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Develop individualized wound care plans based on clinical evaluations, incorporating advanced treatments such as dermal fillers or specialized dressing techniques. Administer treatments including dressing changes, IV infusions related to wound care, and sterile procedures following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—such as physicians, therapists, and case managers—to coordinate comprehensive care strategies aligned with residents' needs. Educate residents and their families on wound management, prevention strategies, and post-treatment care to promote healing at home or in other settings. Monitor progress through regular vital signs assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations like sonography or laboratory testing when necessary. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation of all treatments, assessments, and progress notes. Experience Proven experience in wound care management within long-term care facilities or hospitals. Critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Knowledge of advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, catheterization, sterile processing, and infection control protocols. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dermatology, infectious disease care, pain management, and physiology. Experience working with diverse populations such as seniors in memory or dementia care units; individuals with developmental disabilities; or patients requiring hospice or post-acute care services. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs measurement and physical examinations while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
