Yard Manager

Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and safety-focused Equipment Yard Manager to oversee daily operations of our property. This role is responsible for managing our inventory's storage location, coordinating equipment movement, supervising yard personnel, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining efficient yard organization. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, equipment knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the equipment yard, ensuring organization, cleanliness, and safety Work closely with Rental Manager to ensure rentals get both dispatched and returned correctly Assist in unloading and tagging of newly arrived equipment Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs in collaboration with mechanics and/or Rental Manager Supervise yard staff, assist drivers and support personnel by providing training and feedback Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness Maintain accurate records for equipment usage, maintenance, and asset tracking Optimize yard layout and processes for efficiency and workflow improvement Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; 3+ years of experience with outdoor power equipment Prior supervisory, leadership, or asset management experience preferred Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and fleet operations Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment (certification preferred) Valid driver's license Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match Opportunities for career growth Company clothing provided
