Yard Spotter

PPS, in cooperation with ABW Logistics, are in search of GW Spotters at their temperature controlled facility in Clayton, IN. The ideal candidate should be dependable, have reliable transportation, and available to work full time.

Pay Rate :

$25.59/hour

Shift:

Wednesday-Saturday 6:00PM-4:00AM Requirements for

GW Spotters:

After meeting all of PPS' standard qualifications, Candidate must meet below qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. WHS Management Software and Red Prairie knowledge. Computer skills in spread sheet and word processing software. Trailer backing up skills.

Responsibilities of GW Spotters:

Performs pre-trip inspection on the tractors (each shift prior to use). Checking oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid levels, and leaks underneath the tractors. Mirror placement. Clearing water from the air lines. Tug tests all trailers. Slows down on yard as appropriate. Uses both airlines. Ensures 5th wheel is flush with trailer so as not to miss the king pin. Maintain trailer lift, high enough to clear all obstacles. Verify trailer doors are secure prior to moving trailer. Prioritizes inbounds based on Team Lead input and direction, making sure operations always have available trailers. Prioritizes outbounds by appointment time or Team Lead. Communicates with Customer Service Reps daily by providing the warehouse trailer shortage list. Interested?
