Job Description

Description Wolfies Swim School is a family owned and operated instructional swim school that prides itself on quality lessons and staff appreciation. If you're looking for a rewarding career with a unique culture, competitive pay, and flexible scheduling, look no further! We have an indoor pool!! As a lifeguard you are responsible for the safety of everyone in and around the pool. You must remain alert throughout your entire shift, monitoring pool activities to enforce all safety guidelines. You will need a lifeguard and first aid/CPR certification and may need a pre-employment physical and skills test. You should be someone who is a rule follower with knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures. This is a part-time position that requires afternoon/evening and weekend shifts.
Position Overview:
Lifeguards ensure the safety of swimmers by actively monitoring pool activities, enforcing rules, and responding swiftly to emergencies. Their vigilance is vital to maintaining a secure environment at Wolfies Swim School, where they play a key role in promoting water safety and instilling confidence among swimmers.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor pool safety and enforce rules to ensure a secure environment for all swimmers. Check and maintain equipment, including safety and rescue gear, to ensure readiness for emergencies. Respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as necessary. Communicate clearly with swimmers, parents, and staff to enforce safety protocols and address any questions or concerns. Monitor and maintain pool chemistry to ensure a safe and healthy swimming environment.
Requirements Qualifications:
Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid Certification required. Strong observational and communication skills. Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies.
Expectations:
High levels of focus and adherence to safety protocols. Commitment to continuous training and professional development to maintain certifications and stay updated on best practices. Basic understanding of pool regulating chemicals and procedures. Familiarity with pool systems in use (BECSys5) and their general operation.
