Job Description

As a Yoga Instructor, you bring quality and personable yoga and movement classes to our visiting guests and community members. You pay attention to detail and ensure you put a personal touch that makes every guest feel seen. You have integrated knowledge of each limb of yoga, and are dedicated to your own wellness. You understand what it takes to create a comfortable and safe environment for guests to come move, breathe and heal. As a member of Taos Ski valley staff, you are knowledgeable about Taos Ski Valley, The Blake Hotel and The Spa and able to provide direction to guests regarding hours of operation, yoga class schedule, mountain statistics and the adventurous offerings of our scenic surroundings. This job description is intended to be a broad description of duties. You will be asked to carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Adheres to policies of Taos Ski Valley, Inc. Well versed in hatha, yin, yoga nidra, vinyasa, Iyengar, kundalini, restorative and/or ashtanga. Ability to gain verbal and non-verbal information from guests to predict necessary props and/or modifications. Accommodates guests with injuries and/or health conditions. Maintains cleanliness and organization of space and all props. Arriving to teach class prior to scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address concerns. Dresses appropriately for teaching classes, keeping in mind that will likely be outdoors and in the sun for the class. Gets to know each participant, especially those returning. Shares educational information with your class participants. Teaches class with presence and engages each guest. Reporting any equipment/facility problems to the management team. Begins and ends all classes on time. Reports any incidents or accidents to management. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to discern a guest or situation that puts you and/or other guests in danger. Confidence in leading others and making decisions.
Qualifications/Knowledge:
Certified Yoga Teacher or Registered Yoga Teacher. A minimum of two years teaching yoga. Literacy in anatomy, common injuries, health conditions and medications. Must be able to manage time, maintain an organized environment, and be able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. Valid CPR Certification. Valid Standard First Aid Certification. Must have a professional manner, use discretion with guests and other staff, and have a polished appearance while working. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to sun, wet, cold, and/or humid conditions.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
The Yoga Instructor (Events) position requires you to lift up to 25lbs. This position requires you to be able to talk, hear, smell, stand and be on your feet, seated on the ground, kneeling, crouching and or bending up to 100% of the time. This position will require you to clean yoga props and mats. You will spend minimal time on your cellular phone navigating your employee portal, and email.
Background Check:
Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
