This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children who require personalized assistance to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As a 1:1 Aide, you will create a nurturing environment that promotes growth, independence, and confidence for each student. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster an inclusive classroom experience that aligns with individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices in special education. Duties Provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs. Assist students with daily classroom activities, lesson engagement, and behavioral management strategies. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) by supporting tailored instructional goals and accommodations. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment conducive to learning and social interaction. Assist with lesson planning, curriculum development, and literacy or math activities tailored to each student's developmental level. Ensure safety and well-being during school hours by supervising children during activities, transitions, and breaks. Skills Experience working with special education students with challenging behaviors. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques. Proficiency in special education practices, including familiarity with IEP processes and curriculum adaptations. Demonstrated classroom management skills to support positive behavior and engagement. Compassionate approach to working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental challenges. Prior experience in special education school environments or classrooms .
